Things that make you feel fabulous and wearable art!
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

Because everyone needs a slice of the JPG treatment. I saw his exhibit in San Fran once. So much fun! I love that he re-introduces historical lines and curves. And it's really very sophisticated punk.

Do you feel like an icon?
No, I feel like an iconic bra

LOL Check out this great interview with Gaultier:

I've always LOVED fishnets. I have several variations and lengths in my closet as we speak-never in colors tho, only black for me. I went through a victorian lace faze too...which may be a version of the fishnet? But let's not get off topic. During halloween you start seeing these EVERYWHERE. What really got me thinking of this is at the theatre last week I was watching a show and I noticed that the dancers were wearing nude colored fishnets. And I was like, "WHAT! How's that?" And it got me wondering why. It seems there are many reasons: flexible, breathable, curve enhancing. Interesting!

This is a great short video of the history that I found and loved! check it out:

And an all time classic that was always a bit outside the box but eventually became iconic, St Laurent. I saw his exhibit in Denver and it was glorious! I'm not into his pop art style collections but the mens wear for women- OMG LOVE IT! Only a tuxedo jacket? no problem (You should probably put some fishnets with it). Nice sharp traditionally masculine ideas totally made for a woman's body. yummy! And vests, oh man. I went through a huge vest phase in the 90s. LOL

Hats! I adore hats. Does anyone else have this problem? I really do feel there is a hat for every occasion.

I'm currently rather infatuated with the Akubas. I do love the movie The Man From Snowy River but let's face it you can NEVER GO WRONG with a fedora. Here's two of my faves:

Leather pants!!! Yes please! Let's face it, if you want to feel fabulous and you aren't feeling like wearing a good hat you gotta rock the leather. I used to even wear them to the office. Obs, you can't go all rocker girl with it at the office but they are so sleek, it really makes a sophisticated POP! if done right. Check out these amazing teal pants (if you don't feel amazing in those, I'm sorry but I can't help you. just walk away. no really. walk. away.) LOL

@Area51 - oh wow! I may be in love. I had not heard of him. Beautiful! the fabrics are very sumptous! It's a bit Edwardian with a lowered waist.

The Fortuny? Mariano Fortuny designed and patented his fabrics back in the early 1900's. His clothes are very rare and extremely expensive. Would have love to own one! Only in my dreams..... 😞

Well that explains- it doesn't look Edwardian it IS Edwardian. If you found a wonderful tailor you could certainly borrow his style. Sigh. They ARE lovely.

Yes, many have tried to duplicate his fabrics, but supposedly no one knows the exact process and can't achieve the same luster. Although, imitations are getting much better!
