I enjoyed Karloff, Lugosi, and, yes, even Basil Rathbone, as Frankenstein's progeny, last Saturday night when Svengoolie aired "Son of Frankenstein."
It was Boris' last movie appearance as the monster, with Basil being cast in his famous Sherlock Holmes role in his next movie. I got a few chuckles, too, with some obvious inspirations in the film for the brilliant "Young Frankenstein." The Inspector Krogh character in "Son of Frankenstein" almost seemed like a parody, after "Young Frankenstein," especially every time he adjusted his prosthetic arm and when he was playing darts with Basil.
