Brit Coms
« on: July 17, 2018, 04:33:22 PM »
British Comedy.  Quite frankly most of the TV shows I like (or liked) are Brit Coms.

Anybody else?

I first saw them on WQED in Pittsburgh in the early 80's.  That was a PBS station.  Throughout the years I would see them on other channels and platforms.  I truly love most of those shows much better than what we in the U.S. put out overall.

Fawlty Towers
The IT Crowd
Red Dwarf
As Time Goes By
Are You Being Served
Monty Python
Father Ted
Miranda
Black Adder
Steptoe and Son
The Office

I'll add:

One Foot In The Grave
Waiting For God
'Allo 'Allo
Vicious
Vicar of Dibley
Upstart Crow
Goode Neighbors
2 point 4 Children

Oh!  It's not a comedy.  However, it has it's moments.

You HAVE to watch both. They are laugh out loud hysterical. I forgot to add One Foot In The Grave. I loved Richard Wilson in it.  I hated 'Allo 'Allo. Vicar of Dibley was OK. I was sad to hear about the passing of Emma Chambers. Was 2.4 children the one with the crazy neighbor Beryl?

I will watch.  I've heard The IT Crowd is hilarious.  For some reason I never caught on.  My ex-wife said that I would be Victor Meldrew.  Probably the only thing she was right about.  LOL!

Alice Tinker was a great character.  Emma Chambers did that character justice.  So fun!

There was also a comedy series that had Dawn French and a bunch of others in it.  The name escapes me.  I remember watching a skit called "Fistful of Travelers Cheques."  It was so dumb I couldn't stop laughing.

A Touch of Frost and Cracker

I've seen an ad for Touch of Frost, and saw a few episodes of Cracker.  I enjoyed it.  My schedule at the time inhibited me from enjoying certain things, and over time I forgot or simply couldn't watch.

French and Saunders? Which reminds me of Absolutely Fabulous with Saunders. I used to LOVE that show. Especially Patsy (shout out to Pyewacket).

Miranda is very quirky and fun. I've watched the series a few times.

Yes! Ab Fab.  I used to have a thing for the daughter, Saffron.  Not creepy...just, ya know.  ;)  ;D

The Comic Strip.  That's where I saw a Fistful of Traveler's Cheques.

"Supernatural, perhaps. Baloney, perhaps not. There are many things under the sun." - Bela Lugosi as Dr. Vitus Verdegast in The Black Cat.
