Thank you tootsie! I really enjoy comparing the visions, hopes, and dreams of the past to what has actually materialized in our time. 😊

yes, and the pictures to go with them,  really fascinating.   :)

Cool thread.  CometTV is having a national Doll Day marathon this Sunday afternoon and is showing the old Andersons Supermarionation shows, like Fireball XL5.  Retro marionettes doing futurism.  ;)

I'm a big fan of Art Deco and Futurism architecture and art.  Here's some with a retro futurist look.

Love those old movies! I wish I had that channel. The more recent "Team America" movie is one of my favorites .

You're not near (around 50 miles or so) a metro area?  All you need is an inexpensive indoor antenna, such as this, if CometTV has a broadcaster in your area for over the air.

Check out your viewing options here.

They also stream on line for free.

It's truly a work of art, both inside and out.  A former railroad terminal, built in the '30s in Cincinnati, transformed into a science/ museum.  I highly recommend visiting if ever in the area.

That is one gorgeous museum! Yes, Deco seems very retro futuristic to me also.

Retro futurism.... isn't that like someone today guessing what 1997 will be like?

😄 Haha! No, it's what people in the past thought today would look like.

Here's a more recent year concept car, with obvious '49 Ford influences.  The Ford 49 concept car from 2001.  A retro futuristic concept with retro influences.  ;)
