Then there's always a chance one lives in a seismically active zone.
The stove top level could shift from day to day.  Heh, heh. ;) ;D
All the more reason to have a snug lid!

I didn’t have time to read the last 4 pages properly... apologies if someone has come up with these, but as well as some good cast iron skillets and the like, you can’t go wrong with Le Creuset products.
Give pees a chance.

They don't use that name in America.
They are called Freedom Cookware.

Trying the new $10 turquoise Walmart ceramic 12".  So far, so good, lol.  Lightweight with a no heat handle, rounded sides and steel bottom.

EXACTLY!

That’s why it hurts so much when you desecrate freedom fries with #CheeseTurds and delicious gravy.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but if you buy 2, one can be used as a lid, upside down.  Also, lids abound in thrift shops, but I always forget to measure before I go.  I was always wanting a lid for that avocado green skillet with the rounded sides.  Foil helps in a pinch but probably not best for the environment.

Ever try one of those universal lids? I read where someone said they’re out of this world.

Never heard of them.  They sound wonderful.  Sometimes I just set the bottom of an adjacent pan which is done cooking on top of the one that's steaming.  Low ball, I know, but works in a pinch.

As long as it works. I think I’ll pick one up and give it a try.

Half of the cookware in my dump have lids.  I'll use the 17" wok for the 16" pan, etc...it stops shit from exploding on you and slows the escape of heat.
Eh, nevermind...

Caraffes get broken, pots and pans can tough it out through meltdowns.

Pans are a gateway utensil. Stick with pots.
Are we having fun yet?

After doing some hand washing of cookware, I had this thought...  The stuff that gets hotter and harder to handle is the good stuff.  The hot water heats the good stuff quickly.

Eh, nevermind.

Pots make cook mixing bowls, too.
