I spent much of this week casting around the garage for the microphone I last used w this old desktop, then for a Linux program I could record with.  I finally got Audacity.  The problem with programs had been using the right description of what I wanted to do, because so many of these audio programs will do just about anything but convert mic input; the magic abbr. was "API".  This is for some work I'm doing for a client, and I wish I could bill him for all the time I actually emptied boxes -- it was practically at the bottom of one after I'd spent a lot of time untangling spaghetti bowls of cords, & that after going thru a bunch of other boxes where I didn't have it -- as well as that downloading & testing of the mic & programs -- but nah, I'll just bill a token amount of it as setup time.  The rest of the time I have to consider part of my work of moving here, which I did nearly 2 yrs. ago but haven't fully set myself up yet.

sorry to delay this project but I have been dealing with real life. Work has been slammed and I also was dealing with a small flood in the basement. Hopefully soon we can make this a reality. Several have offered to help but I have never done the tech side of things merely been the "talent" and I use that word loosely so I have zero clue about how to stream etc. When I did my own shows they were recorded and I didn't take calls so this will take some help and some time but I still would like to do this. Sadly because of real life I would never be able to do it daily. Maybe a few times a month. But it doesn't just have to be me. Other people can do it more frequently if they have the time. For now it's a work in progress.

Pie does have meringue; never seen that on cake... Although it's not too late.
Some pies have more whole fiber texture, like chunks of apple, peel of cherry, grit of raspberry.
I don't like pie either (except wheat-gluten free crisps!) but I definitely like the filling.  While graham and Oreo crusts are ok for wheat eaters, ordinary pie crust is usually awful.  Even the best pie crust lacks something.  So bland and dry, or oily.  I think if I made pies, and if I ate wheat flour, I would sweeten the pie crusts like those pre-fab lunchbox pie turnovers, and put a glaze.  That's it.  All pie crusts should be sweet glazed.  But I'll just stick with the filling only.

I know I'm late to this, but I just wanted to add that there is meringue frosting for cakes. French meringue or Italian meringue are classics. Then there is marshmallow meringue. All very yummy.

skype has become a horrible f'ed mess. thanks $micro$oft . apparently if you upgrade to the newest (free) version, you cant turn off the skype sounds. also you cant have moar than 1 caller at a time.
unless you pay $micro$oft for the pro version ...
