I recall Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, and Neil Simon all as creators of legitimately entertaining, mostly wholesome distractions.

I submit that this wholly explains their virtually complete absence from visibly popular media over the last several decades.

Prove me wrong. Meanwhile, I hope that gash traitor is enjoying his applesauce in Gitmo.

Speaking of Tim Conway.....

For all his success, he was the star of one of, if not the, worst series in episodic comedy history, Rango.

How bad was it? I checked out a trailer, it seemed apropos to the era. It came out four years after the President was assassinated by his Vice-President--you gotta consider the tone of the age, mang.

Sen. John McCain was so much more than a celebrity. He was truly a great American. I rarely agreed with his politics but always respected him and appreciated his service and sacrifices to our country. And his intelligence, integrity and sense of humor. When men of honor are so desperately needed, we may never see his like again

"... We weaken our greatness when we confuse our patriotism with tribal rivalries that have sown resentment and hatred and violence in all the corners of the globe. We weaken it when we hide behind walls, rather than tear them down, when we doubt the power of our ideals, rather than trust them to be the great force for change they have always been, ..."

Oh dear. I thought that was the cat's name. My apologies
Oh, that's right, I mentioned it as a reply to @Spookcat.  Momoko-san would be the equivalent of Matt Groenig (sp?) if the Simpsons were an autobiographical family.  So there's a little bit of a connection between the artist and the audience.
Eh, nevermind...
