Back to School [1986] Rodney Dangerfield, Burt Young, Sally Kellerman and Sam Kinison. Another Dangerfield movie for me - the guy just cracks me up.  He plays a wealthy business magnate that decides to enroll in college when his son is considering dropping out. Hilarity ensues.  Rodney pinch hits during one of the schools dive meets and pulls of a "triple lindy" dive that is insane:

Kinison plays the part of the ultimate History Prof:

Dear Lord @PB  ::) Play or don't play, but stop trying to ruin it for the rest of the kids...

Oops, sorry

... And for the record, Reservoir Dogs for sure...I didn't put it on my list because there isn't much in the way of levity. Come to think of it, you are a dark little dude, aren't you? Watch your ears everyone! PB is going to be the first to go Lord of the Flies on everyone.

You watched it too and liked it!

You guys are going to be finished your lists long before I do. You'll already be on your islands and I won't even be on the boat yet.  ::)

3.  Bedazzled - 1967.

The original Bedazzled is a great comedy and well deserving of being put on the desert isle.  A down and out Stanley Moon is at his wits' end and tries a failed attempt at suicide.  The devil appears (looking just like a normal person) and offers Stanley seven wishes in order to achieve love and happiness.  All the devil asks in return is Stanley's soul.  Stanley goes for it but no matter what he wishes, the devil is always one step ahead of him.

The great Dudley Moore plays the hapless Stanley and the awesomely brilliant Peter Cook plays George Spiggot, the devil.  Some interesting street scenes of London (I'm assuming) are also included in the picture.

2. The Seventh Seal (1957)
3. Children of Paradise (1945)
4. Fantastic Planet (1973)
5. Kiss Me Deadly (1955)
6. Seven Samurai (1954)
7. Zulu (1964)
8. Blade Runner (1984)

We have to include at least one romantic comedy, don't we?

Whatever you like, Bob. @Peter Wyngarde was saying 'no' to such movies but he seems to have left.

Wyngarde hasn't left, he is just on hiatus. He went to the "theatre" and somehow managed to set his Moobs on fire.  He'll be back in time.

Shocking moment man ON FIRE runs down London street before bystanders use their jackets to help put out flames on his chest

I never really remembered this as being romantic or a comedy. Damned good movie though. Especially when one is cast away on a secluded and desolate isle.

I've got two that have appeared on other's lists.  Both are fantastic films.

Jaws [1975]
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World [2003]

Straight at 'em, Mr. Mowett
