Yes, the boys were members of The Champs, but I believe that they joined up after "Tequila" made it to number one.

I'm not the biggest fan of 70s music but my god, Summer Breeze, Diamond Girl, Hummingbird and We May Never Pass This Way Again are truly wonderful songs.

Dave ran Sequential Circuits and developed the first polyphonic synthesizer, the Prophet 5.  It was used on a great menu pop hits in the late 70s and 80s and is still used today.  He went on to work with Roland engineers to develop MIDI.
