Robbie Bachman - 69.
Robbie Knievel - 60
Bad day for Robbies.
When I heard the Bachman-Turner Overdrive music during the news report this morning, I really thought it was Fred Turner who had died.
He kind of backed out of the business a few years ago. I have been meaning to track down Fred with a little bit of an ulterior motive of scoring one of his basses.
I played one of them once and loved it. He would get companies to make him a five-string neck but put only four strings on it. That included only drilling for four tuning pegs. So, he'd get an extra massive neck, wide spacing and an extra-mass headstock. I swear that the tone on those basses we're superior to their four-string counterparts. They were really comfortable to play too. He was quite proud of that as he asked a company on a lark for that configuration not knowing if he would like it or not.
