Of course I had to look this up, darn you, Sean. ☺️
So, do you think it helped them? 🤷🏻‍♀️

NSA is a nice and sociable group for the most part. I went to temples all over Los Angeles and San Diego. Some members homes were regular meeting spots, a real friendly group.

It probably helped them on a lot of levels, I don't know about the spiritual aspect of it.

My biggest problem with the group was that they had a bit of a nationalist issue in Japan that created problems. Kind of like if there was a German religious group that thought the Nazis were okay, well that's what their group was like for modern Japanese. Not as extreme, but not acceptable for the mainstream. Because of my in-laws, I had to cut all ties as NSA is considered a cult. More for their socio-political practices than their religious ones.
Eh, nevermind...

Earlier in May, the "you can call me Ray" guy died.

Talk about oversaturation...

The death of Tina Turner is one of those rare celeb deaths that actually bum me out a bit. Robin Williams really saddened me in how violent his suicide was, but I've posted that before.

Additional dialogue that wasn't covered in the video:

Ames to Carson, " Would like to take a turn throwing?"
Carson to Ames, "I can't hurt him any more than you did."

I hope those was around him treated him better than Martin Milner's family. They were vultures.

Roger Craig - Baseball, 93...

Rumored to have destroyed many pitchers' arms, but a winner in the end. Seemed to be a good guy off the field too.

Astrud Gilberto - 83.  She accompanied her husband Joao to the US, along with Tom Jobim, to record an album along with Stan Getz which became Getz Gilberto. Since she could speak English and sing a bit, the producers had her record the new English lyrics to Garota de Ipanema - The Girl from Ipanema which became an international hit. Her kind of thin, not exactly in tune voice became the standard for girl Bossa Nova singers.
