I'm not sure how they can tell, but reports are Diane Feinstein is dead at 90.  Political comments in the politics thread.

That was elder abuse going on there...
Eh, nevermind...

Tim Wakefield.

Curt Schilling publicly asked for prayers for the Wakefields (Stacy Wakefield has cancer too) and Jason Veritek's wife got all pissy.

Eh, nevermind...

Sounds like Sead David Morton was pretty much dead but now is getting back alive again.

Russ Francis and the VP of a pilots safety organization... Died in a small aircraft accident.

I remember him with the Patriots. I had no clue he was with the 49ers for years too.
Eh, nevermind...

Dick Butkus- 80.

Read "Dick Butkus, legendary Chicago Bears linebacker and Hall of Famer, dies at 80" on SmartNews: https://l.smartnews.com/p-SzzbP/BR3sP7

In his day, linebackers were seldom used in pass coverage, and would hit ball carriers going down hill. Butkus was the fiercest hitter I ever saw. I actually spoke to him a few years back at a Nebraska @ Illinois football game.  He was still intimidating in his mid 70s.

George Plimpton wrote the best football book I've read, "Mad Ducks and Bears," about the insane antics of Detroit Lions Alex Karras and John Gordy.  The book is hilarious.  The funniest part was the story of the "Alex Karras Charity Golf Tournament."  Karras hired a bunch of midgets for the tournament.  A group of them got drunk, knocked on Butkus' hotel room door at like 3am,  and then gang tackled Butkus when he answered the door.  What I'd give to have seen that!

Phyllis had a great 'scream' when confronted by monsters and Mole-Men.
