It looks like the folks in New Bern are really getting it. The Neuse River is already flooding. The river runs up towards Raleigh, so it will continue to fill with rain and will continue to flood.

Some of the same for another NC river city, Jacksonville and the New River.

Florence on track to visit herself in SC.

Parts of VA, NC, MD etc was getting lotsa rain last month with some localized flooding and concern about some bridges. But not one particular storm. And parts of PA n OH. But more water won't be good. I agree with others' assesments after the initial 'hit' the worst is flooding, depending on flashfloods or water not getting ability to leave so just soaking, molding, letting chemicals, sewage, etc leech in and so on.

@Walks_At_Night

My internet is wonky. Hopefully this link works. A weatherman is shown “bracing” against the wind and two guys stroll normally behind him.

As someone who used to face into 40-50mph winds on a regular basis flying R/C gliders (Often in winter) I can vouch it's actually easier to walk than stay in one place. Except when launching or recovering a glider when it became a sail and took you along at a fair pace.

Nice to see ya, pud.  I've missed you so I bumped you up a praise point.

In other news, today was the hottest day of the summer in Atlanta.  It got up to 95 degrees at the airport. I can see the thunderstorms at the edge of Florence in the distance.

This sucks. Only Saving Grave, I joke somewhat, about Harvey was Houston, somehow, wasn't as hot as could be. That and, again, a joke I used while rehabbing, "the benzene and contaminants killed the skeeters."

I’m about 200 or so miles from the hurricane and getting wind and airborne allergens from it.

In a year the demokkkrat media will be reporting that as 37, 137, 937 dead.
