I'll confess... It is kind of cool.  What was the old direction?

Beautiful. I admire that you make art that is like what we would find in books growing up - with a character that you just don't get with digitally produced art. They all had a warmth to them.

Really appreciate that, thanks :) I generally agree, though there are occasional artists that manage to make the digital warm also, which I am unable to do.

I am always fascinated by an artist's ability and interpretation.  It's true.  I struggled to draw a stick figure but wanted to do such things and couldn't.  Therefore I grew to appreciate it all.  Never ceases to amaze me...the talent.

I'm the same way.  I can't paint or draw worth a damn and artists make it look so easy.  I wrote and drew a Spider-man comic when I was in middle school. :-[  One of my best friends was an artist and he inked the thing and made it look half-ok.  His solo work was beautiful and intrinsic and  I knew after that one attempt that I should leave the drawing and painting to those who are gifted with that talent.  I certainly was not.

"Making it look easy" comes from failure after expensive failure. Expensive in terms of time wasted and materials lost, as well as in terms of losing a little bit of your pride/confidence/soul with every piece. You have no idea how much has been discarded in the lead up to the final simple piece. I used to sculpt bronze for a living many years ago but have since given it up. I have no energy left to try to explain the value of a piece of art anymore. Everything I do now is either given away immediately or traded with other artists for something else. I can't imagine trying to make a living as an artist these days when gratification is so immediate elsewhere.

Thanks! The older ones shown are 8x10ish and the newer ones vary but up to twice the size.

Thanks, primarily a cactus guy, worth the patience it takes to grow them :P
