I called to see about volunteering for a few hours at a soup kitchen downtown on Christmas day. To my pleasant surprise I was informed that they were inundated with volunteers for that day so I was not needed. They will however use me on the 26th for a few hours, so perhaps that's even better.  :)

I bet the coffee's gonna be good.

Last time I volunteered at the NC Food Bank they had us sort thru huge sacks of potatoes.  Some were rancid and smelled horrid.  I spewed.  If she still approaches you after rancid tater spew, she's a keeper.

Traded in the sleigh for a train? That's gonna crush all our houses when it touches down! And what about all the poor reindeer? Donna, Blitzer, Hoffman, and such!?  Oh, and Rudolph Hess.  :P

she is walking down the street
she toiled another hard day – at the cheesecake factory
seven days a week – she is doing the same – and she never complains.
Five minutes to go – then she got the south train - tomorrow I will see you again.

Re: Christmas Weight Gain Thread

Well, yesterday I had my famous Pancake Omelette for breakfast as a rehearsal for the big day on the 25th. I can post the recipe.. it is absolutely incredible. This is not a low-cal breakfast by any stretch, so get ready!

I'm up 3 pounds as of today. By the 26th I expect this number to grow that number to 5-7 pounds to shed between the 27th and New Years. It is my hope for you all to get fat this season. Keep your heart light, your body jolly, and the yuletide Gay. Gay! G'HEY!

"1 to 2 pounds
Research shows that people gain an average of 1 to 2 pounds (approximately 0.5 to 1 kg) during the holiday season, which includes Christmas1. During Christmas, people saw their weight increase by 1.35% on average (about 1.2kg or 3lb)2. While this might not sound like a significant amount, the concern is that these small weight gains can add up over the years and contribute to long-term weight gain."

Merry Christmas.

Value the inconvenience of celebrations and meals because it is better to be hassled than to have nobody (by choice or otherwise).

Agreed! I grow tired of towing the funny train all on my own.

The board was not very Christmassy this year. I am disappointed in "God Bless Us, EVERYONE" Myself included.  :-[

May we never know peace!  >:(
