A motherboard is an essential part (or parts) of a computer system. @juan Andy Warhol's Sleep.  If you are not familiar:

Sleep is a 1964 American avant-garde film by Andy Warhol (obviously). Lasting five hours and 20 minutes, it consists of looped footage of John Giorno, Warhol's lover at the time, sleeping.

LOL!  @juan  For our conversation, let's keep it simple and go with 'retard.'    How about Citizen Kane?  Black and white film. Perhaps the character has never seen one but hears it's a classic?  The best.   The character in your book is *clears throat* a retard and doesn't understand any of the movie but the cinematography is hypnotic.  "Rosebud" blows his mind.  He somehow thinks Rosebud is a type of weed.
