@PolkaDot

I agree! I am currently exploiting the "effect" via a tri-pronged attack, i.e. three interconnected novellas.

That should get "it" out of my system (or myself out of the glitched system.***)

You might find it harder to amuse yourself outside of the system. Many do.

Thick aluminum helps too.  I had an NT/2 years ago...  I loved the AT4050CM5(?) much more.

Yes. The CM5 (AT) I love AT mics in general. I would like a 4060 but have never gotten round to acquiring one.

Current Audio Technica in my lineup are:
AT 4033A (Top end heavy and a tad boomy on the low end) i primarily use it for acoustic guitar. Placed of axis it sounds beautiful.
AT 4047 (sweet mids) Great for backup vocals, hard rock crunch guitars and toms. Also makes for a great singular overhead/room mic.
AT 3525 My 1st condenser. It's a pimped up 58 that requires phantom.   Preamp the fuck out of it with some EQ and it can glow. Pint sized workhorse.

If that guck is for filler/weight/heft, then the RODE NT2A must be about 2 bags full sir! It's a hefty fella!

It's probably something that they used for a few things, like weighing it down and giving the mic a more solid feel, shock resistance for the transformer, electrical isolation and maybe even some sound insulation for the mic as well.

Sorry moonpe, I am convinced that the allies won the war against the japs  because of the overwhelming evidence that says they did. ddd is a fat, old, ugly retard who is living in his fantasy world in which he thinks he deserves a Nobel prize for claiming the japs won WW2. Sorry ddd, the japs lost big time and want you to shut up lest you remind the world about all the atrocities they committed.
