Yes, George and Tommy are on it!

George said they were scattered all over the office.  No doubt some are damaged or lost, perhaps they've been moved around at least several times since they were acquired from Art.

I'm not picturing Noory being all that concerned about them, or even understanding their significance.

Was it tapes or were transcripts being sold?  I remember in the real early days he used to pitch them.  Maybe pre-1998? Pre-1996?

I'd imagine low quality high-speed copying would leave a lot to be desired.

Too bad Art or CBC decided to disclose the existence of the Hi-Fi tapes... I'd imagine the only ones who knew the tapes' true value would be all the time travelers and maybe Ramona.
Yes, they were cassette tapes. I remember the pitch also, and you are right, it was very early in his syndication    -    '92-'93 ?

Yeah, your years are more correct. I occasionally hear them on U7Radio.org.

Real good radio during those years. No overtly bitter Art, Ramona was still looking 18, Art was probably still getting laid by his ex at that time.  He was rolling.

Damn Straight.   :)
Art was fresh and excited to be broadcasting. The program material, although it was new, didn't really matter that much. It was Arts' enthusiasm I tuned in to listen to.
At that time, I was rolling with a $300.00 late 60's beater, 2-speed, 2-bbl, 350 cid, rusted to shit, but with a strong drive-train and a Solid-State AM (only) radio. It just depended on how the skip was bouncing, as to what AM channel I could pick Art up on.
I popped a 1/4 wave magnetic whip on the trunk lid - excellent ground plane (sw 1:1.4) -  and would park, listening to Art, while I waited to see what was happening for the night on the CB.   :)

@Millicent rocks! Thanks for posting the shows. We used to be all about Art but have lost our way 😿

I do not listen to old shows as much as I used to but I do enjoy revisiting many of the gems.

@DynamoHum Art Bell enjoyed his life. I can see Art Bell interviewing Dr. John Campbell.  Dr. Campbell is from your neck of the woods. ;)

I hope his family is well. It is hard to believe it is already almost 2 years since we lost him.

That's for sure. Do you still listen to Midnight in the Desert?
