There was a guy at a place I used to work at who brought in a big kettle full of hard resin that he proceeded to warm up. By lunchtime the stuff was boiling hot and he wrapped individual potatoes in newspapers and cooked them in the resin. When finished, you put the potato by your plate and peeled off the newspaper. It left a wonderfully fluffy, totally cooked potato on the plate. Those things tasted great and I ate a number of them despite the fact that there were burgers and sausage dogs that were also on hand. I guess the Indians used to cook them that way, though without the newspapers, I imagine.
