;)
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

Sorry, but everybody guessed wrong on this one.  But that's not necessarily a bad thing because now the points will automatically be doubled for the next quiz.  (We're talking 40 points for every correct answer!)  Mrs. Thompson says for everybody to have a nice weekend.

Same to you, and to her. Thanks Rikki.

Methanol - a simple alcohol originally made from distilling wood. It takes a good bit to die from it, though smaller amounts can destroy the optic nerve. It’s primary function now is as a precursor to formaldehyde.

I love visiting the City of Old Quebec in the Winter. As per old stories, people would mix Methanol (wood spirit) @juan with wine and call it “Caribou.” As I type this comment, I have 2 Caribou walking sticks next to me. Souvenirs from Quebec’s Winter Carnival. Sorry @Bart Ell but... I love Bonhomme
PS/ I do not drink wood spirits.

Hmm, this is hard. I think I recall from a gazillion years ago when I had to take two costume design courses as a theater major that hemlines around that time varied from mid-calf to halfway between the knee and the sole of the foot. I remember this vaguely because I was supposed to draw a dress like that, and since I have less than no ability for drawing, it was nearly my downfall in the class.  ;D

I am realyig on my vague memory about this, so it's a tough call between 6-8 inches. I guess I'll go with 8, hesitantly.  ;D

This thread is fun for me because I like reading others' responses AFTER I've posted mine, and NOT researching the question online.  Cool!
@Aquarius "What will Mrs. Thompson Say" is always hard for me.
I understand and enjoy the Victorian Era way of thinking and fashion.
The Edwardian period succeeded by the King George V era is very foreign to me. I have made some progress with understanding Mrs. Thompson view of the world in 1919.  Prince Edward, Duke of Windsor is only in his 20’s.

I have high hopes for 1920.
