I dunno, I just get a depressing vibe from Dire Straights/Notting Hillbillies stuff. His Princess Bride track didn't help.  I liked the drummer, Terry, good great guy.

It's not the same depressing vibe I got from Allan Holdsworth (RIP) either. Holdsworth just made me feel like I should take up knitting.  The guy was a monster player.  I did feel bad for AH in his latter years although his choice of a hot Asian chick porn model prostitute manager made it abundantly clear he didn't know how to manage money... or didn't care.
Ok, unfortunately there is not a lot for me to argue about there. I love knoffler's playing and I can never get enough of Sultans even though it's overplayed on "Classic Rock" stations.

Is it possible that the thing about Dire Straits that gets you down is Mark's voice? it is a little..  lifeless to be kind. Not a lot going on there.

It's like a machine wrote it to me.  Lounge jazz, not the cool jam-type stuff.

His voice isn't horrible just not excited about the subject.
Eh, nevermind...

BTW, I'm not down on riffy guitarists.  Though Holdsworth would give me headaches, Chet Atkins and Roy Clark were easy on my brain.

Eh, nevermind...

The medicine ball guy would be one annoying asshole to be around. Those guys are in every gym that's why my gym is at home. Only one goofball permitted - me!  The heavy bag guy saves it all with the humping. What I can't figure out is the chick annoyed at the ball guy or the bag guy? And then she gets clipped!

Hi @FISH I think Saturday would be a good day for you to have pasta. Sunday is a very bad day for pasta. That is all.

@KSM32 Do you allow children in your neighborhood the joy of buying ice cream from a truck vendor?

@juan

Absolutely sir. I love it! Makes me smile to see them all run out of their houses and get run over by a truck because their parents didn't care enough to teach them basic common sense things like LOOK BOTH ways before crossing!

KIDDING!

I really do like the sights and sounds of all the happy kids. Although that ice cream truck song drives me up every single wall in the house. We're out on the edge of town on most weekends so the trucks don't make their way that far out but at the city place, yes, I "allow" it.  :) Thank you for recognizing my authority on this matter.

Pictured is an Airbnb inquiry from someone expressing some concern about Vera. Can you believe the audacity of this chick?

@KSM32  As someone who has teeth scars from a large dog bite, I can understand. However, this person obviously just lives under a rock and just doesn't know about the great Vera. Or else your complaints about her lawn habits have preceded her good looks and reputation.
Time spent with cats is never wasted.

Aw, it makes me think of a dear friend of mine who is terrified of dogs. Then she and her husband stayed with friends who had a very sweet darling dog, not a small dog either and she really enjoyed the experience. I was really glad because dogs are wonderful and it is really sad when a person is scared like that. That lady will be SO lucky to meet the lovely Vera.

Despite what the dancing monkey has to say, Sunday gravy and pasta is an excellent choice. Fried chicken and or fish with mashed potatoes and #DeliciousGeavy, don’t forget the biscuits, is even better!
