Every once and a while you'll see locals with Gears bumper stickers. Pretty good for a team that hasn't been around since the 80's.

Solid color uniforms are almost universally hideous.  All red and all green may be the worst.

This one tripped me out. Because I loved that show but also why a minor league hockey in Germany would have "Grizzly Adams" as their logo!  What is more awesome, but would be controversial here, is that German hockey has a relegation system like soccer in Europe has. Makes exciting stuff because people fight to the end because relegation means loss of big $. Imagine relegation in our professional sports! Of course would never happen but imagine. The one thing that is more capitalistic in Euroland is sports.

For a time our local minor league hockey team was the Icebats. There are famous bats under the Congress St bridge (Norry sometimes mention them. He saw them visiting Austin for some kind of event. When Alex Jones nudged him into a pothole (or he just stepped in it) and I think he had to have Tommee go out and buy him a new suit or something. He babbles about the incident, and the bats, sometimes.

The Kingsford Michigan High School mascot is the "Flivver".   Flivver is an antiquated term for a Model T.
So instead of a dude stuffed in a costume they have their very own Model T in the school colors.

Can't get much better or more southern than the Montgomery Biscuits, the Rays' AA affiliate.  The Southern League has some other dandy logos as well.

Tonight the Biscuits are having 'Millennial Night' where participation ribbons will be handed out, selfie stations will be set up, and napping & avocados will be promoted.

That pic always puzzles me.  You have Noory's son totally into it. (notice his Nike batting gloves).  Day with Dad!  Then you have Noory looking befuddled on how to stand, how to hold the bat, and how to wear proper fitting jeans.   Poor bastard.

He looks like he's posing with a rifle, and his bottoms are loose enough to do a roundhouse kick.  Or wrap around the Pampers!  Sure fills out the photo better  :).

No 14, as you show below it was his elite Naval training that kicked-in automatically and he thought he was holding his rifle at port arms.  Plus Mom Norry likely wasn't there to remind him of how to play baseball. You know she taught him a mean slider and he was almost picked up by the Tigers?

Cut off the wings and look at the roundish part. To me it looks like a top-down look at a hockey helmet, sorta. I forget which brand? CCM? Rangers' helmets in the 80's used that look, I think.

Weird. One would think if anyone could the Japanese could come up with some scary looking, "I wouldn't want to deal with that" type of Dragon. But, then again, in a culture that, apparently, for centuries dealt with women-raping octopi woodcut paintings, weird violent/sexual comic books, and history of brutality in warfare and prisoner camp/experimentation that this logo might "stun" the fellow Japanese opponents due its innocuousness?

Does Washington DC have the all around worst team names?

Wizards - basketball
Nationals - baseball (former MLB teams were both the Senators (now Texas Rangers and Minnesota Twins)
Redskins - football
Capitals (caps, or craps depending on the year they're having) - hockey

Horrible.  At least when the basketball team was the Bullets that wasn't too bad.

LOL!  I'd say so.  Like you said, the Bullets was't too bad.  Then they became PC because the name was encouraging shootings.  ::)  :P  ;D

Nationals and Capitals suck big time as names.  I won't even comment on the Redskins.

At least they have the D.C. United.  That's a cool name for a soccer club.
