BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The 5-year-old boy who was thrown off a third-floor balcony at the Mall of America is showing “real signs of recovery,†according to a post on behalf of the family.
According to KARE, Mac Hammond, the pastor at the family’s church, said the boy, who he identified as Landen, had gone through an MRI that lasted five hours and referred to the results as “truly a miracle.â€
“Doctors said they found no brain damage — not even any swelling,†Hammond said at the service. “No spinal damage, no nerve damage … doctors are saying it is truly a miracle.â€
The pastor said that doctors described the injuries as if he “fell off a bicycle instead of off the third floor of the mall.â€

The saving of a life is always good news, whereas the loss of one can't be anything but a regret for poor choices made and some failure of family or friends to know and impact how a miscreant's path wanders away from positivity.
If you talk to any combat vet, and few will choose to expound on the horrors they've seen, you'll find a wistful pool of sadness that things ever had to get so far along.
In my mind's eye it's roughly the same when you punch out (good or bad) if matters are unfinished - perplexing and for many...abrupt and traumatic:

First-quarter gross domestic product expanded by 3.2%, the Bureau of Economic Analysis said in its initial read of the economy for that period.
Economists polled by Dow Jones expected the U.S. economy increased by 2.5% in the first quarter.
Gross domestic product for the first quarter was the best start to a year since 2015.

Many have reported experiencing these deeply religious visions spontaneously or while under the influence of psychedelic drugs like psilocybin “magic†mushrooms or the Amazonian drink ayahuasca. Just, damn, sweet in Peterborough, Ontario. Saw a lot of this kind of stuff when I was a kid. Yeah that's right, I was a baby goat. Problem?? :D

Yay for the Castle Doctrine! I'm not saying killing your offender is good by any means, but it's far better than a likely alternative.

A “one-in-a-million†little girl who was born with both legs bent backwards has walked for the first time thanks to an outpouring of financial support that helped pay for her “miracle†surgery.
3-year-old Victoria Komada was born with bilateral tibial hemimelia – a congenital deformity which results in deformed legs and missing bones.
Doctors initially told Victoria’s family that the only solution was a double amputation – but then her parents found a surgeon in Florida who would be able to reconstruct one of her legs.
Though the surgery cost a whopping £180,000 ($235,000), thousands of people raised money for the polish family so they could travel to America from their home in Norwich last July.
Upon successfully raising the funds for the treatment, the family flew out to the Paley Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida where Dr. Dror Paley told them that her left leg could be fixed and her right leg could simply be fitted with a prosthetic.
Victoria had her first nine-hour operation in July. After months of treatments and therapy, she underwent a second operation in November so the bones in her left leg could be fused together. Two days later, she could walk.

Some great news today: Smokey, a dog that has been missing for 3 years was reunited today with the owner :D Someone had him and he must have gotten loose and was found by someone else and taken to a vet to scan for a microchip. The microchip info led to the owner information.
Two important lessons:
1. Microchip your pets
2. Never give up hope for a missing pet

Lesson 3: Always secure your stolen pet.

It only takes a minute to write your address & phone number on a piece of paper. Then, put fold wide clear tape over it. Then around it. Then punch a hole in it, or puncture it. Then slip a small key ring through it and attach it to your pets collar, hopefully breakaway collar.
Also, department stores have pet tag vending machines. Buy two, one to list medical or dietary needs. Then just attach both.
