I watched a Japanese fellow win gold in the ski jump competition.  I guess the last time they took it was 50 years ago.

Is it true that Uyghurs will be holding the biathlon targets?

The best post so far. Gold Medal!

I saw that guy! Looked like he was jet propelled. Pretty amazing

What? No Olympics thread yet? I guess things are just warming up. Well, I'm happy to start one. I recorded the Downhill Racing so this may be a little bit old news but always awesome. My Superguy is 24 year old James "call me Jack" Crawford from Toronto. I guess there is a whole new pack of young Canadien racers who call themselves "The Wolfpack".  Jack hit 85 mph coming down the mountain. Currently in second place. I will see if I can get an update

Wolfman Jack missed out on a bronze medal by .07 seconds. He skis like a beast

Mikaela Shiffrin almost made me cry today. It was so nice she had her mom there to console her when so many indoor sports families had to stay home. I did think they needed a "Mikaela Watch" inset in the corner showing her and counting the minutes she was sitting in the snow. Well. She has more chances. Good luck in the Super G, Mikaela!

I do think China turned people off and the 11 hour time difference as well. But I do wonder how streaming changes viewing patterns. I am always a fan of the Olympics but starting last year with the Summer and especially this year's Winter I watched it almost all on streaming. You get to choose the event you want, when you want it, with a lot less commercials. The advantage of the NBC is you get more in depth stories and scenes from the Olympic locatoin, but with Covid you didn't even have much on location pieces as most of the crew stayed in America.

I miss the days of when the Olympics was held in small countries and was bigger than life. Of Jim Mccay sitting by a fire in some snowed in cabin. When the games were played by amateurs. And winning meant something. China, Russia, the US, Germany, Great Britain, should all be off the list for the Olympics. Give it to smaller countries. I want to see the winter games in Finland.
