William Smith, actor, dead at 88. No cause given. As a child, he appeared in films such as
Ghost of Frankenstein,
Song Of Bernadette, and
Meet Me In St. Louis. Brawny as an adult, he was known for his brawls in such films with Rod Taylor in
Darker Than Amber and with Clint Eastwood in
Any Which Way You Can. He also appeared in such cult films as
Invasion of The Bee Girls,
Atlantis, The Lost Continent, and
Grave of The Vampire as well as such tv fare as
Laredo,
Hawaii Five-O and
Rich Man, Poor Man. He was also a poet.
