About a doomed expedition to find the Northwest Passage.  The book was speculative horror about the real expedition that disappeared.   I believe they located the ships, The Erebus and The Terror, a few years ago.  I am always disappointed by adaptions of books by movies or tv.  I watched the first two installments last night.  @KSM

Oohhh, this sounds fun.
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

Probably not as creepy as if you take, "I will find the hand of Franklin reaching toward the Beaufort Sea," literally.

It is a miniseries, I believe it is ten episodes.  They did a second season but I think those are each unconnected stories.  There is he scene in the book about a winter carnival held by the ships while trapped in the ice that I wish Stanley Kubrick had filmed.  @KSM. Dan Simmons is a very good author that writes in many genres.  He is best known for horror and science fiction, but always leans towards horror.  Imagine the story telling of Stephen King, without all the verbal diarrhea, combined with better writing.

I binged the first season on your recommendation @whoozit . I really enjoyed it.  :) My husband refused to watch it because he had polar bear PTSD from watching Lost.

Strangely, I have been laughing out loud a lot more than I have for any other show. Completely unexpected... Community.

Honestly, I've avoided it for ages because of Chevy Chase's presence. Everything he's done after Saturday Night Live has pretty much sucked.
Eh, nevermind...

I’m glad you liked it.  They changed quite a bit from the book but I am enjoying it through episode 5 so far.

Community is actually very funny.  I enjoyed it.  The Advanced D&D episode was great but I believe it has been pulled because of blackface.
