I hate mosquitos. @FISH I get severe reactions to their bites. The bites blister like I was burned.  :'(

Don't like humidity either.

I've always wanted to go to Savannah though.

@ShayP

I want to try this out. My skin recovers within the hour from mosquito saliva, but I experience memorable and longterm blisters and sometimes scarring from fire ant venom. The little bastards.  :D

Hahaha, other than ducking micro-sized debris, going into that building wasn't going to protect the videographer from any sort of rock flying around.

Ammonia takes the sting out of fire ant bites. Toothpaste usually works for mosquito bites but is a distant second for fire ants.
Are we having fun yet?

I don’t know where to buy actual fire ant killer anymore.  The only thing I can find is the stuff that makes them move a few yards away.

Being that I use hydrogen peroxide to kill a lot of things, especially egg larvae in my garden, I would think that a 50 cent bottle of hydrogen peroxide with a small hole poked in the bottom laid next to a fire ant hill would wreak havoc on the living ants as well as the eggs.

My dad used to pour gasoline and light a match. After the initial burn off, he'd go back and pour more.

Interesting. @Camazotz Automat  I'm skeptical.  I can see it being useful for stingers, splinters, and thicker venom.  However, I doubt it can withdrawal what ails us.  Mosquitoes, fire ants, et al.

I did have a chuckle when there was a warning to not use it on the face or neck.  I wish I had this when I was young so I could give myself hickies thus making the young ladies think I was a man of action.  ;D

Seriously...I feel your pain.  After my blisters heal, I occasionally get pock marks from the bites.  :(

I have been using Sawyer products to repel mosquitoes and it works quite well.  It lasts a good 8 hours too before reapplying.

It's the only repellant that ever worked for me.
