OK, Sean. How many people have you actually run over at this point?
I was a licensed property and casualty insurance agent for a decade (a great job when you're busy doing other things), I also managed an outside sales staff and in-field staff who drove on the company's dime (boring classes were mandatory).
My kids have been taught when to swerve and when not to. Yes, there's a time when hitting a person is your best option. My family had an incident, in fact. The person ended up biting the police officer after my kid missed hitting her.
Pro-tip...
If you are driving your car and find yourself in the middle of a riot and you fear for your life, the first thing you should do is turn off your traction control [ You are not allowed to view attachments ] . If one wheel gets stuck on a body, traction control will prevent the other wheel from spinning freely, possibly keeping you from getting away and saving your life. Turn it off and you will get out of a jam.
