This video, and @KSM's recent report that one of his old friend's dogs had fallen through thin ice makes me think about how irresponsible some pet owners are. Once domesticated, letting a dog run in dangerous parts nature is not always smart. Dogs are as smart as a toddler, would you let a toddler without shoes run loose there?
Yeah, some people think of dogs as property, tools or a controllable living being (so they feel like a god)... My point of view is they're family.

To your point - I know people who would save a dog before a toddler.
I once saved Henry from the very same river when conditions were warm. The fat fucker went down the embankment and could not get himself back up. He gave me a look as if to say.. "Eh boss, I think I may have fucked myself down here"
