I fought a bank and won.
With the recent increases in interest rates, I was transferring money around trying to get top rates. One bank had what appeared to be an impressive interest rate. I not only read, I downloaded the various terms and disclosures. I then opened the account and transferred a lot of money over to them. Then, I went to transfer even more money and the system wouldn't let me do it. The rep told me that I did not have the ability to do that for 3 months. I went back through the disclosures, couldn't find it.
I went to transfer all the money out after they had my money for 25 days. I left $10 in the account in order for the statement to come out and I can get my interest. They closed my account and sent me a check. I contacted customer service and they advised me that the account being closed meant that I would not be receiving any interest for the time they had my money.
After contacting the FDIC, within 1 week, I got a check in the mail for my lost interest that they tried to abscond from me.
Squeaky wheel.
