The Duke of Edinburgh has died at the age of 99.

How do these people get their titles:  the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Dork and Duchess of Sussex, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge?

The titles of the other ''noble families'' are inherited, but why are the royal family given seemingly arbitrary titles?  Has Charles ever even been to Wales, for example?  When was the last time Phil even went to Edinburgh?  So they specifically represent those places?

Prince Philip

Philip was the post child for political incorrectness, he literally had no filter.  I happened to be in the UK when the Obamas made a state visit, there was concern he'd make an inappropriate comment.

SHit.  I loved that magazine.  And Square Pegs. I remember this one:National Lampoon
After graduating from college, Beatts joined National Lampoon magazine, a national offshoot of the Harvard Lampoon. She co-wrote a parody advertisement for Volkswagen which was conceived by Philip Socci for which the magazine was later sued by the car company.[5] The advertisement stated, "If Ted Kennedy drove a Volkswagen, he'd be President today," accompanied by a photograph of a VW Beetle floating on a lake (an allusion to Kennedy's Chappaquiddick incident).

OMFG, that's a classic!

For some reason I always thought that she hooked up with David Letterman.

Eh, nevermind...

The "death issue" of Lampoon was the funniest they ever did.

I remember that photo being used for a record label, I wish I remembered which one now... I think it was for bootleg releases.

I'd have thought somebody would have killed him before now.  Maybe not as bad as Epstein and his secrets, but...
