+1 to John Lear for being a Kratom advocate! It's proven to be much more effective than CBD for me.

There is a pretty active subreddit about the addiction problems of Kratom. Lots of people try to use it to withdraw from opiates or alcohol and end up with problems with kratom.

Quitters never win. I didn't use it for withdrawing from anything and as long as it keeps my from having to try and get some type of narco-pharma opiate from my doctor I will be happy. I've stopped for periods of up to a week and haven't had any withdrawal symptoms from it. No adverse side effects from it either. I've found out the hard way that you really can't overdose and take too much. Too much makes me nauseous, I throw up, then sleep. Kratom is also very diverse in it's effects. It can also be a great stimulant (green vein) when you need a boost for a 15 hour drive or for a pick me up at lunch when you've only had 4 hours sleep the night before. On the other hand it can also help you relax and sleep better (red vein). Maybe I'm just lucky (so far anyways), but it's been nothing but a positive experience for me.
