It was a flash thought and I figured, you being in Canadia and all, you might have heard of him either through his New York years or when he was in Vegas.

I remember him as a guy who had piss smelling breath, called Beatles fans BeatleKidnostads (OK, a bit hyperbolic but he was right about that) and he wanted to hire me. After meeting with him, I kind of didn't want to work with him. His daughter also died of interesting circumstances.

Me and my music friends would sit around and read his rants out loud in a New York accent. While he was occasionally spot on, most of the time he was just a blow hard.

The thing I take away most from him is what he called the "pool rout." I always hated those myself. I always felt they fed back more and they certainly didn't have the growl that a body mounted pickup had over a pickguard-mounted pickup.
Eh, nevermind...

..But I'm not in Canada..

I've removed all pickguards from all Les Pauls. Much better look that way too.

Ok..  but I'm still not seeing the connection. Why does any of it matter with regards to my location at any given time?

@Bardell What is going on here?

C'mon man. Checking out far away guitar stores online was a big thing. Before that, catalogs were the thing. Manny's NY, Sam Ash, Musician's Center & Guitar Friend.

But I bought all my guitars in person in PG or Vancouver whenever there. A great place called Axis Music on E Hastings which is a crazed shithole now. The street, not the store. Store been gone for 20 years now I think..

I have NEVER bought gear online.

We bought all our Rickenbackers (325 & 4001) from Bizarre Guitar. Our Tokai purchases were from New York.

Los Angeles was 100 miles away...  Went up often.
Eh, nevermind...
