Exactly, it's always good to find goodness, but at minimum avoiding badness is pretty good.

I agree that DS is very good.
I was completely, utterly ready to never again subscribe to DMDN after canceling my sub in protest of what a nightmare it became to attempt to listen after you-know-who took over.
But, when Dave took the helm, it only took a couple of shows for me to feel happy about re-subscribing.

Bellgab really hated Dave in the old days.  It was sad. Now they want to sniff his bicycle seat.  Even sadder.

Recently, probably Friday night, he told the guest (who was in his mid eighties), something like:  Take that piece of knowledge and put it in your knowledge bank for something to know later too.  It just came off as exceedingly condescending.

I would like to add that not only is Dave good, but he's also not bad.  With all the badness out there, let's not underestimate the importance of not being bad.  So in sum, being good is good, but being not bad is also not bad.

Yes, and being not bad is better!  A minimum standard must be met.  It's like society:  You can't do good deeds to justify your crimes.  The baseline is no crimes, and good deeds go on top of that.
