Apparently, I'm really feeling Alexander McQueen this season. Who would've thought? The looks are definitely a throwback, but nicely done. And there is some lovely tailoring going on in many of the pieces.

Looking at all that McQueen has me wondering if peplum is back? I've never been into it as a style - 80's no way. But in 1940's? Oh My God! Love it. Poking around I realized what was happening. The waist is often much too high-

Why in the world would you do that to yourself? The waist needs to be much lower. It creates that 1940's clean silhouette that is much more pleasing.

Probably! To be honest women where still VERY attached to their corsetry then. Of course they got rid of the metal stays and started calling them undergarments, but still not messing around. Also...nutrition...not that good.  ;)

The only thing I know about corsetry is that when I was a little boy my older girl cousins tied up a 15-year old boy in a corset. Said boy went on to become an extremely important rock ‘n roll manager, promoter and record label owner. He had to get my mother to untie him.

That really is a beautiful piece. Could do without the neck ring thing. What is that even called? I want to say it's a collar but that can't be right :P

Oh, it's a collar all right. Not part of the dress though just accessory.
