im not Bart but i have advice.
get clonezilla.
burn the iso to a flash drive.
start up the computer, booting from the flash drive
then follow the on screen directions.
once done go into bios and change the boot to the new drive.

@wr250, thanks for solidifying my initial plan. Actually, I did kind of a hybrid. First off, I did a fresh install of Windows 7 on the drive and will be using Clonezilla to handle the easy lifting.
I did come across a small problem, my motherboard has 6 eSATA ports but they don't seem to like SSDs on two of them. I've got a few things to check but I'm up to my eyeballs in crap.
