@sean92008

Curious

When you listen to a 90's classic do you listen to it as if it was the first time you heard it? I can handle a Dames or Hoagie appearance when I have one of those classic shows on but if old regulars from back in the day were suddenly back on as guests on any of the various podcasts I just can't do it, nor do I care to.

BTW I never liked the Bonnie Crystal caver shows.  Thought I'd throw that in.. :P

I do like the modern Michio Kaku, admittedly though, not with the same level of excitement that I had back in the 1990s. Listening to RCH after MitD was exciting because it was somewhat comical but an interesting topic too.

I would say that I listened to the old shows with awe.  Not just the ones selected by Premier Network for Somewhere in Time...  A lot of the old shows are quite contemporary. The Ed Dames stuff is more a "nose rub" in the shit he left laying around.  It was good theater of the mind though and I look at it with that perspective nowadays.

Art was such a perfect ringmaster in the circus of the airwaves. I'm sure Ramona, who's (RIP Ramona) truly the reason Art was as successful as he was, really knew how to balance the bookings.  That is an art that has been lost on all of these podcasts. The same people, over and over and over.

Most of those old, regular characters put onto a show today, it's tough. I think the interweb has pretty much killed the joy of discovery.

Rambling. It's late and I just binged watched 3 hours of Strange Things...
Eh, nevermind...

Animal mutilations.
in general or the LMH reports?

Good Lord I hated her Dreamland appearences. Fucking unlistenable and the reason I stay away from my Dreamland collection.  And what was with all the fucking BEEPs during her reports?  Art hated when a guest had mild hum on his line that we couldn't even fucking hear BTW but he seemed to pretend that her BEEEEEEEP reports were "just spiffy!"

Q: “Least favorite show topics.”

A: The ones that make scary clowns and husky cat ladies wet.
Be wary of phony kleptos with bovine spongiform encephalopathy.

Agreed
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

Agreed
Ron called, HE WANTS HIS CAULK BACK!

You see, he's redoing his bathtub and that's why.

I threw it out. It was the wrong color.

Wife dated a black caulk before me. 6'8 and had a small gun and with that bone in his tongue his oral skills were quite lacking apparently.

Great topic

I hate the current event stuff that you can get on any AM radio show (Coronavirus, Gun topics, Climate Change, politics etc) especially when the guest just parrots the hosts opinion. Of course the health infomercials are the absolute worse

As for the classic coast topics, I don't mind psychics when they predict general topics but once they go to individual caller I always turn off. I really don't care if Anne will find love or if Bobby will find a job.

The LMH reports.  The audio (or just her voice?) sounded garbled/underwater/tremolo to the point that it was unlistenable.  Also the topic itself is very disturbing for this animal lover.

Those rods and that rod guy.  Horrible photoshop jobs, and there was Art, talking like he was taking them for gospel.

Yes. Those were horrible shows and he was a horrible guest. The Weekly World News paper rag had more believable garbage than Jose Escamilla had.
