I thought I read that they were demolishing that and a nearby hotel along with some other businesses to put in some big, fancy resort type place. North Oceanside along with Carlsbad Village area are going through major gentrification efforts.  Although the ZIP code is richer, Carlsbad has a really crappy downtown area compared to Oceanside. 

Normally, midday crowds are at the purple church. You always see a door open and a guy standing out front. Today no cars, nobody, doors closed.
