I have a similar story. Business meeting in Baton Rouge. Everyone warned me of the humidity. So I packed my lightweight suits. Suits *smh*.  I got off the plane at 10 pm. It was 85° and 90% humidity. I felt like I was swimming through the air. Air conditioning everywhere saved my life

Indeed. west coast, a month or so ago I was in Las Vegas returning from the east coast on a day where it was 114 degrees that day. The AC motor had died during the day and the home was still at 105 after the sun went down. No humidity but hellish, never the less.
My little brother still says that an oven is a dry heat too and he wouldn't get in one of those.  ;D

I have a story from the opposite spectrum of weather. My first business trip to Seattle was right before 4th of July. They had just gone through a heat wave but the usual constant overcast and drizzle had returned. The natives were so relieved. "Thank goodness our usual summer weather is back."  "I know. I almost had to water my lawn". "Yes. I actually bought sunglasses" .  All this conversation was going on as we walked out to the parking lot to go to lunch. There was a steady light rain so I was doing that skip/fast walk that high heels require to get to cover. Of course everyone else was strolling along like it was a sunny day

I had really been looking forward to seeing Mount Rainier looking over the city. Not on that trip

Yet the Lions actually showed fight and heart.  I may have to start paying attention to the NFL again.

Which I guess is actually fair weather fan-ish.   :-[

I really think Detroit is the real deal this year

I was fair weather for years with the Chargers. Stupid Chargers. But the Rams have made me a believer

Yep, typical over here in Baton Rouge. But then we close the city down for 6 snowflakes. LOL

I like it better than cold weather - cold being anything under 60F or so. Of course here it’s still 80% humidity and the wind blows, so the cold, wet air cuts through you.
Merry Christmas

It's a gorgeous city. I wanted to walk around but had to do all my sightseeing from an air conditioned car

You'll never see a bunch of weather whiners like San Diegans
