I remember X-Files went decidedly south sometime before Mulder and Scully hired stand-ins
I have come to like, not love, the Patrick/Gish (I'm not googling that, hope I got it right) era. Although the episodes became less memorable, The Brady Bunch episode was probably the highlight. In the last couple, three years, Vince Gilligan was really setting up Breaking Bad in his head. You could see its gestation.
It was just too bad that they worked so hard to close that circle on the UFO/aliens arc. That was very much a jump the shark effort.
If I ever go back to watch this series again, I will want to watch it in its original aspect ratio. I really dislike the changes in resolution in different scenes.
