What's up with this draft lottery?  I don't like it.

Pittsburgh can draft first overall if they blow it in the play-in round.
Lafrenière could be their new Crosby.

I now hope they win their play-in round!

That is a possibility.  However, they must win and will.  The Habs will go down!  :D

On a different topic...anybody agree with me that Tom Barrasso should be in the hall of fame? I agree that he is a borderline case, but I feel he should get in.

If you start letting in left handed goalies then you might as well burn the hall down.

lol
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

It's ridiculous a playoff team even has a shot at the top pick.

I understand the draft lottery to discourage tanking, it should be limited to perhaps the bottom 4 or 5 teams.

A playoff team does not have a shot at the top pick.
Only the teams that lose in the play-in round.

It technically is the playoffs.  I still wonder why this format was chosen.  The Pens are a #5 seed and yet they have to go through a "play-in game?"  Nah man.  This is the playoffs no matter how they spin it.  A bastardized form of playoffs, but nonetheless.

You have to compensate teams missing out on the real playoffs in some way.
If Montreal loses to Pittsburgh they will choose 1st or 9th.
If they make the playoffs they will pick anywhere from 16th-31st.
If Pittsburgh loses then they have a shot at 1st, which they would not have had otherwise.
Seems fair to me.

I try to process it but I'm stubborn.  The fact is the Pens have the 8th best record in the NHL.  31 teams in the league.  No way they should qualify for a chance at the 1st overall pick under any circumstance.

Them either.  If they're good enough to have a shot at the playoffs, they shouldn't have a shot at the top pick

I think just for optics they would at least try to find one American city. I am sure they wanted to for the American traveling media, but how bad is it in America that they literally can't find one hockey town to play there games at.

I am amazed that every other sport is putting all their cards in the Florida basket, their reputation would make them the last place in America I would trust to try to do this.
