My comment was more about the local news suffering because people think the national news is fake. The local newspaper reporter makes like $25,000 a year, they have no reason to try to push an agenda. Simple community reporting kind of stuff. I don't think I explained that well enough.

I just went to TuneIn and what did my wondering eyes behold? MIDNIGHT.FM is in the spot that used to be Deep Talk Radio. Right now it's Tim's show on the Pascagoula Abduction. That was a really good one
Congratulations @SpookyTim ! I have a suggestion. Is it possible for you to re-broadcast each night's live show right after it completes? Like a delay for the West Coast? Coast to Coast does that for western time zones. Then we can listen to it from 10 pm - 1 am. Still not as good as live but pretty close. And I think it would be good for expanding your listener base
I miss the listening live experience but this way I could read the posts for the show while I listen and maybe there will be a few other night owls that may want to post around West Coast MIDNIGHT

I remember 4 or 5 years ago when Angel Espino kicked Rey Hernandez off of the show. Angel asked Rey for any kind of evidence for anything he was saying was true. And Rey had no evidence at all. Rey was insulted of being asked such a thing and then Angel kicked him off. It got really ugly.
I don't much get that deep into these things. Yeah, I do riff on Strieber and his endless pleas for money for this and that and everything else. IMO he did have something happen to him and then he realized he could grift on that, so he did. Not my monkey or circus and definitely not my $$$ going to him.
As long as the guy tells an entertaining story about UFOs and aliens, I think I'll be happy.

Singer/songwriter/producer Matt Sharp is The Rentals. Originally formed during a hiatus for his day-job, the power-pop group Weezer, Sharp assembled Weezer drummer Pat Wilson, that dog violinist Petra Haden, vocalist/keyboardist Cherielynn Westrich, and guitarist Rod Cerveza, to record the 1995 debut record Return of the Rentals. The album spawned the hit single “Friends of P†and led to tours around the world supporting Blur, No Doubt, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Resurrection Mary is a well-known Chicago area ghost story of the "vanishing hitchhiker" type, a type of folklore that is known from many cultures. The urban legend is based outside of Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois, a few miles southwest of Chicago. Resurrection Mary is considered to be Chicago's most famous ghost.

I've read the mothers book. I wasn't convinced, due to lack of evidence. They've done an exhumation and DNA, which the author claims was tainted, but again with no proof. Also who they claim was actually killed, Jesse's cousin, died months before Jesse. There was someone in Texas who claimed to be Jesse, but his story didn't hold up when questioned by relatives.

If I take personal stock for a moment I find that I am quite fine and almost too well. However I am only about 65-80% happy. Happiness is a sliding scale for me and I never know what to expect. I generally just ignore you, but to this, I will respond. That is not true at all. In my day job, I work very closely with all the area police departments and I have a lot of people in my circle of friends that work in law enforcement. I see first hand that most departments are underfunded and need more resources, and almost every LEO I know personally, to a man or a woman, is an upstanding person. People characterizing them all as a problem need to stop putting blanket statements across an entire group. Nope, I don't think so.
I saw a show recently that put forth a theory that seemed logical...many who were sleeping in the tent with the camp stove were suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning. Once they felt the effects, they cut holes in the tent for ventilation...afraid to leave due to the extreme cold outside. Eventually, they had to leave the tent, even without their clothing...the CO made their decision making skills rather suspect. One group set out for a previous camp, while others remained behind. They tried to make small fires to keep warm, but that just wasn't sufficient given the temps and wind condition. Afterwards, one small group went to look for another, when someone fell and broke a leg/ankle...they had to try and shelter in a makeshift show cave. The mutilations were more than likely from predation, and the skin coloring from the CO poisoning.
I'm going with Occam's razor on this one.
That would not account for the high velocity trauma some victims exhibited though.
This is one thing I have no opinion on but it sure is a fascinating subject.

After Dark Matter cratered, I had to switch to the UK Paranormal Network to hear Military X-files (internet clock radio is limited to what it can link to, and the link for Dark Matter no longer works for it. Probably would not have bought that clock if Art didn't start MITD). @Exile, you'll be happy to know that guy on MQTA that talks about eating breakfast every week is on other shows on that network as well. Tim's network I guess is never coming to my clock radio.

In 1980 I visited South Hill, Virginia, site of the 1960s case the guest just talked about, but I was armed with the chapter in Phil Klass's book with his chapter on it. I found Cliff Crowder and re-interviewed him. He changed various details of his story. I had him read the chapter in the book and he talked his way embarrassingly around those details.This doesn't bode well for The Midnight Society. If after this much time, nobody even here has asked me anything about this, how many in the general audience were interested enough to listen to the show?
Then I found a carpenter who'd been the policeman then who'd also investigated Crowder and had investigated the case. I had him read the chapter too. He said the deduction made by Klass was just what he too had thought at the time, i.e. that Crowder had made up the story and faked the evidence.

There are ways to control against pareidolia. What you need is to provide control photos and ask blinded observers to compare them to genuine Mars photos, and see if they'd don't see patterns more often in one than the other set.
Sounds to me like tonight's guest is just telling a story out of order to make it sound mysterious. All he did was the research he's saying now that he did, and then projected it onto his baby.The giveaway is that he didn't take his son along to meet these people while he investigated, because then they could've talked directly to his son and found out he was a faker. I know that they used to get tattled on by the 60+ year old Chinese whenever they had cameras doing a culture video. Thus Michael created his own LMN network which quickly tanked and was dependent on $200 gifting each month. Now having a grudge against DM and Keith, Michael managed to frequently get into the drama. Best known for supporting Heather by bringing her to LMN for spite, then firing Heather. He tried to start battles with Bart Ell and managed to dox Michael Vandeven. The dummy even tried to toss turds at Dave Schrader via twitter. Tim Ozman was one of the individuals that bought Dark Matter Network (DM) and Midnight in the Desert (MITD) from Keith Rowland. He was rumored to be the one that secured the loan from grandma. Kids will be Kids and in the grandest execution of pretend radio he got Ross Mitchell to announce him as the host of MITD. With the delusional assumption that there was a large audience for conspiracy radio, Tim managed to quickly crater MITD. It's unclear what role he played with DM, but that also cratered with the neglect of the other podcasts on the network. Currently, DM has tried to return to its better days with a variety of podcasts - unfortunately, the golden years are gone.
Tim O was the one that replaced Tim W at MITD. Did he need an air conditioner? Nope, basements are naturally cool.

Uncalled for and highly abusive, Chip seemed determined to emotionally damage innocent Bart. The drama went on for a few days until the commotion awakened Chimp Covfefe. When Chimp arrived on the scene, Chip fled and pulled back his horde. It’s been calm ever since.
Lesson learned: Clearly Chip was overheating and was in need of an air conditioner.

A few minutes into tonight's show, a rerun abruptly superseded it.They got it back after about a quarter hour, with Spooky Tim trying to make lemonade by using the snafu as a talking point for archive subscriptions. But as they resumed, they weren't clear whether they picked up immediately from where they were cut off, or had been continuing to record and just joined the show in progress.

Second hour, the noise is even worse! How could he not hear this? The clicks have been augmented by snaps and taps. It's got to be from Tim, because it stops when he's talking.
