The chimp always reminds me of that faces of death video with a bunch of euro trash tourists sitting around a table. Isolated in the center is a monkey which the tourists take turns wacking with a small silver hammer until they have cracked it's skull like a coconut. They then scoop out the warm brains and enjoy. Only thing missing was a cup of cofeve.

I've seen where it is claimed to be a sea cucumber and it would seem unlikely to be genuine but who knows? BTW, Maria Rasputin was a rather interesting character - cabaret dancer, circus performer, survivor of a bear mauling, psychic who dreamt of Pat Nixon and even a Rosie the Riveter type during the war. Worth looking into. She had her Dad's crazy eyes to boot.

Not too bad. At least here. Have to cover them up with leaves and clippings in the winter and hope the temps don't ever get into the single digits. Other than that give 'em lots of water, keep the Japanese Beetles from eating the leaves and the Mocking Birds from gobbling up the figs when the ripen. Mocking birds seem to dig figs a whole bunch. We have some pear trees that are much tougher - they get all kinds of weird diseases.

It is there as a business for placing bets on horse races across the USA. Old men on O2 tanks and women wearing too much make up are a common sights at the 'club'.
I enjoy watching a race in person. A race horse is a magnificent creature. The last time I was a track was last September. :'(

One of my stories-- George’s father was a cigar smoking factory worker. George would bum grade school to go to the race track with his father. Father would tell George—if you own a race horse than you are a successful man. After completing HS, George enlisted in the USMC. On his return home, a local fabric merchant took George under his wing. He taught George the rag business. George would fly to Southeast Asia to hire women to sew beads and things onto wedding gowns. George became a millionaire. Yet he always remembered his old friends from the neighborhood. George eventually owned about 5 race horses. If one of his horses was racing, he would invite us to the track. Owners always had the best seats and the best view. George taught me how to bet on the ponies. George’s young second beautiful wife, ‘killed’ him off in her own way. To this day, I always bet on the Kentucky Derby in remembrance of a dear friend.

Ghost used to do a traditional conservative political stream but he'd get raided by trolls. So he just rolled with it, turned it around and made it where the trolls had to pay bucks to troll him. He's done well with it. His streams are Dietrich long now - 10-12 hours long but he's pulling in bucks all the way.

@juan Bill is on 4 nights a week. From Thursday night to Sunday night eastern time. Each night the start time is one hour later. Tonight, the show starts at 10 PM. Bill’s topics are similar to Art Bell’s. I believe Bill has a very dry sense of humor.
Most of the time, IF you make a comment at the very beginning of the big show, Bill will give you a shout out. The mods are OK. However, they suffer with clown hate.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time in short bursts in Pittsburgh but never tried a Primanti sandwich.
I used to have to travel for work to Fairmont, WV for the better part of 10 years and would always fly in and out of Pittsburgh. Between 2003 and 2006 I actually worked there full time and commuted back and forth from Texas.
I guess the restaurant I frequented the most was the Quaker Steak n Lube across the street from the mall by the airport.
Been to a few Pittsburgh Pirates baseball games. I even have a Sean Casey bobble head which was kind of weird because it was given out on the same day as the major league trading deadline so he didn’t play in that game because they didn’t want him to get injured while they were finalizing the negotiations to trade him to the Detroit Tigers.
I’ve been to the Amish country a couple of times with another Air Force roommate. Maybe Lancaster area? But I’be never actually been through Philadelphia. At least not in this lifetime.

I have a few ties with the PIT. Iron City Beer, my brother, Ken and schweinshaxe.
Ken was forced to work in the PIT for a few weeks. Ken got in big trouble with the white shoe guys. @Walks_At_Night ;).
Fisxxx sent Ken to Pittsburgh to vacillate a merge. The Pittsburgh folks started pointing their finger at Philly for the slow down with the merge. Ken pointed out that Philly is not a one horse town. CRASH, BANG, BOOM! All Hell broke out!!! The fall out? Ken got called into HR. The Pittsburg office filed an official complaint. No one is allowed to call Pittsburgh a one horse town!!!
All is well, now. Ken has retired.
We like to sing songs about Iron City Beer.
Word on the street is that in Pittsburgh there are a few good German restaurants where you may buy a nice pork knee for dinner.
Interesting. @FISH I want to hear the Iron city beer songs. Unfortunately the German restaurants are few and quite frankly they became "trendy" and traditional dishes should not be that, so they manipulate them anyway. There's a place on the south side that will do a pork knuckle, and if there is a festival, etc, I may find some.
However, the cultural history of this city is not what it once was. I know change is inevitable but I'm having a hard time recognizing this place. The "Steel City" is a marketing thing now, and it has been. The neighborhoods that had an ethnic history, good or bad, are being restructured and reinvented. The only thing that seems to keep going strong is the section of the city that historically was Italian. Oh well. Maybe I'm too nostalgic.
I'll always toast an 'Ahrn' City beer to you. ;) One for Ken as well. :D

THANK YOU. I am sharing this info with my family. As you know we would travel to Montreal and Old Quebec City. We judged our travels by the radio going from English to French ...French to English. I have travel North by car, bus, trains and planes. In the winter we would rent a van. We needed room for our hockey sticks and ice skates.
