In my early teens, my buddy was driving a four wheeler and I was on the back. It was getting dark and we just started heading into the woods. As we did, we passed and old man and woman standing by the edge of the wood - there was something peculiar about them but we didn't pay much attention.
We came out the other side of the trail and that same couple were standing there. We raced like hell to get back to my house and inside to safety.
To this day, some thirty years later, we'll still discuss that event when we see each other.
What if either of us would have been alone for that encounter?
