What we listened to during my senior trip to the 'Nam'
Oh wow, that happens to be a song from the very first LP that I ever bought on my own. It's from the Surfin' Bird album by The Trashmen, who, incidentally, (and Dave and Winnie might know this) hailed from Minneapolis. The lead singer was the late Steve Wahrer. He would sing and play drums at the same time. By the way, that's a different guy in the second half of the video, not Steve.
Did you know that the boys got sued over the Surfing Bird song? It was because of the part where Steve sings "Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow" a direct steal from a group called the Rivingtons. I think that they settled out of court.
A very fun album, all in all. My personal favorite on the album was Money.
