This storm strangely keeps moving west.  I’m not in the cone of death anymore.

I like how all the idiot reporters went to Miami while the storm has always been predicted to head into the Gulf.
Merry Christmas

Hoping we get some needed rain out of it.

Best of luck.

Nora is on the other side of Mexico. Good thing they don't cross.

Yeah, Baton Rouge, my city, is gonna get whacked pretty hard unless something changes. Been through a lot of hurricanes, bad and not so bad, in my many years of life. This one has me scared big time.

We are still home in Baton Rouge getting ready to ride out the storm. My two girls and their families who live here in BR are doing same. My third daughter who lives in Texas has been begging us all to come to her house near Fort Worth and is worried silly because we all choose to stay. Our biggest concern is the strong winds. You just prepare for the worst and pray for the best. It’s what South Louisiana folks do. Our weather here is expected to get bad starting Sunday afternoon. Will post as long as we keep electricity!! Send some prayers!!!

Of course you and yours are in my prayers. I know you are one tough cookie.
Be careful with those high winds @Jayzelady  ;)

That's a Beast.

Baton Rouge thankfully won't see the storm surge that the coast will.

It looks like it’s going into Morgan City on the coast, then blasting through the Atchafalaya Basin, which is the middle of nowhere, between Lafayette and Baton Rouge.  Unfortunately, Baton Rouge is on the bad side for potential storm intensity.  Hopefully, it’ll tighten up and concentrate it’s fury on the mostly desolate Atchafalaya swamp, and not be as hard on Baton Rouge.  You can never really tell with these things until they roll through, though.

Unfortunately they are all saying the eye will come very close or directly over Baton Rouge. Winds could gust to 100 mph. Unless there is a drastic change, this ⬆️ is pretty much it. 😕
