I don't know what that is at 1:09. I know the guitar player and another guitar player who thought he was an engineer/producer did some remixing many years later. Maybe something from that. It wasn't in the original mix.
We were all old blues band players, so it sounded normal to us. But certainly not 80s. The Finney brothers on sax and trumpet played with Greg Allman, the guitar players with some famous at the time country artist whose name I don't remember. Bass player on some of the tunes was from a Miami band "People" that had a minor hit. The drummer was from a Kiss-wannabe band. And me - just some goober who played trombone and wrote the horn parts.
Donn Finney, on sax, had a brain tumor that eventually killed him. He played the first Amazing Grace lead on tenor, then had a seizure. I had to go in the booth and slap him to snap him out of it, then he picked up the soprano sax and played the ending. All without stopping the tape.
This was sort of disorganized as I suppose most non-major productions are. Started out as 8-track, then some songs were recorded on 16-track. I don't remember which. It was largely live on the floor with solos and vocals added separately.
I have a few more somewhere. I'll see if I can upload them.
