This 7 foot tall cane in the back yard unexpectedly decided to offer up some autumn raspberries.

Bob I really wish you would do something about that old fence.

Hah! I love putting it back up every time a big wind blows it down.

The official, EllGab Garden chicory plant has returned for yet another summer.  It appears during hot weather, when mowing has been postponed for awhile.

Ooohhh pretty! Is this the same plant they mix with coffee? I ?? chicory coffee.
There was a little girl,
            Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
            When she was good,
            She was very good indeed,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

Last year was bountiful for grapes. This year not so much. The red in the back is a hint of Boston Ivy just turning for fall.

Now why would anyone want to put up a new fence when this one is only about half a century old? I'm fine with it.

@PolkaDot   Yes, one and the same, Dot. The coffee part of chicory comes from the dried and ground roots, of course.  In addition, the leaves of chicory plants go well in salads, but be sure to use new growth leaves otherwise they will taste somewhat bitter.

Grew a Takara Pepper plant this season and it did well.  The peppers have since turned red and are being consumed.  I doubt if I'll grow them again next year because they are way too mild.  In fact I couldn't derive any flavor from them at all, when I chopped some up and added them to a bowl of chili.

Are these psilocybin mushrooms growing in the back yard? I don't really know. I haven't tested them yet.

Do your testing.
Do you have a dog?

Ok. Bob your yard seems to be somewhat of a wild anything goes sort of carnival ride of anything can happen! Yes?  From your fence to the problematic soil, my OCD is freakin' the fuck out!

No offence. I might be a tad.. "off" in the head.

Pictured (way down after this edit) is what my grass looked like in every yard, every blade of said grass, all three places.  Glory.
Don't mind Vera.

THAT is actually a good picture and your fence (passively directed at me) looks pretty good in a vintage sort of way. I had a fence like that at a place but when it was finally time to replace the whole thing I used some of the fence wood to go over drywall as a theme wall in part of my studio. It was the best of both worlds without hauling every old fence board to the landfill. Or fire in the back yard.

You nailed it and I like it that way.
