Maybe if they are IN the bucket but not if they are in the water. In fact sometimes even shooting the actual fish when breaching or jumping, unless in the head (and with hardheads even then,) sometimes won't kill it.  It is all about placement. Folks kill gators and poach deer with .22, illegally but effective at close range and good placement.
thats what i meant, in the bucket full of water. the mythbusters did a show on this (using gummi fish rigged with sensors or something like that)
statistics can be used to prove anything. 14% of the people know this.

7 wt fly rod with 10 lb tippet and a self tied white wing blue charm.  It took five or six minutes to land and 2-3 minutes of resuscitation.

:). The fish started to swim away then went belly up, twice.  Finally got it to keep swimming.  We kept an eye on it for another 5 minutes or so and it seemed fine.

We're talking about fish.  Right?
Yes, I'm a fish novice who might need to know how to fend for myself someday!  If I shoot in a bucket, full of water of course, won't the bullet damage the bucket or bounce back at me?  It does sound convincing that the shockwave would kill fish.

Shock wave is a true killer, kid.  In or out of the water.  No shit, Swear to God.

Just like vehicular wind vortex to a chipmunk...

Okay, but then can I be sure the water will prevent ricochet or a hold in the bottom from the ammo?  I guess it wouldn't matter bec in worst case scenarios, I'd probably save the ammo and not do it.

Admittedly, it happens.  Thanks.  But when it comes to survivalism, I really want to know.  No way anyone really shoots into a bucket!  Bbs maybe.
