Listening to SiT tonight.

I often get a very strange feeling when I listen to these 1990s shows with Art. It's kind of sad as I miss my youth and it's kind of a time machine for me.
Eh, nevermind...

I have it.  Starting it now. I have never heard this one before yet I've had this show in this particular folder since 2013. Huh. Audio seems pretty darn good... See? U7 is poop.

So, being that was to be his "final show" ::) he brings on Mike Segal announcing Mike as THE replacement. They have a pleasant chat for several minutes as Mike accepts resonsability for the show and vows to carry the torch proudly. Well.. we all know what happened - or more like didn't happen - so one can only imagine poor Mike's disappointment in having the helm for a somewhat short time.

"What? Art's coming back?" "Fuck sakes man this is BOGUS DUDE!" < Actual Mike Segal quoted response  8)

I figured he had already died.

But nope,

although it looks like his webpage has been abandoned.

He's nowhere on the station he's promoting. The last big entries were 6 years ago this week.

Well isn't that interesting. Wonder why his personal website is just sitting out there in net-land unattended while he's still alive. He is/was a lawyer so perhaps that aspect of his life took over as radio was winding down for him.

I remember Seagull claimed to have a cat named Vanna - probably trying to imitate Art's having cats.
On one show he interviewed Mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper but thruout he never called him by name he only addressed him as "astronaut" so it sounded very weird.

Cheap Channel mismanaged the Segal transition.  For his last several shows (10?) Art interviewed old favorites.  For Segal's first shows he interviewed the exact same guests with the promos assuring us that nothing had changed.  They should have let Segal develop as his own character.  He was at his best during the Bush Gore court cases.
Merry Christmas

While KOGO radio in San Diego has Somewhere in Time, KFI in Los Angeles has a show called Before the Coast. Weird.

I also discovered that Ken Chiampou (of John and Ken Fame) is quittening.  He's threatened it before, but  December 6 is is last day.
Eh, nevermind...
